Jojoba Oil

As you hopefully know, essential oils cannot be applied to skin in their pure form, which is why the so-called carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils for topical application. These natural oils have many beneficial properties on their own, and among them jojoba is one of the most widely used.

Jojoba oil, also called liquid wax, is made from the fruits of the evergreen shrub called Simmondsia. The oil contains wax esters with properties similar to sebum, so it creates a protective barrier on the skin, while not clogging the pores. In addition to the protective and regenerating effect on the skin, due to the high content of collagen and beneficial amino acids, jojoba oil has antimicrobial, nourishing, moisturizing, rejuvenating effect, and at the same time does not have a pronounced odor.

Another distinctive feature of jojoba is its long-term storage (according to some sources – more than 20 years!)

In aromatherapy, jojoba oil is widely used in face and body care products, as well as in hair treatments. You can also use this oil as a face cleanser and a makeup remover. One of my personal favorite applications of jojoba oil is for care around the eyes area: you just need to apply a drop of oil around each eye, in the morning and / or in the evening, for a wonderful and balanced result.

If you’d like to try the care around the eyes area with jojoba oil, I have a small format of this pure oil (2 ml or 3 ml) with convenient dropper available separately or as part of the skincare set. Please reach out!
